The Minnesota Music Academy was established in 1985 to promote the accomplishments of the Minnesota music community and to provide recognition for those Minnesota musicians who made exceptional contributions to the vitality of Minnesota music. Since its creation, the MMA has produced musical showcases, music-related educational forums and has produced the Minnesota Music Awards. The success of the MMA is evident by its loyal membership which consists of approximately 450 musicians, audio-technicians, producers, engineers, agents, club managers and owners, music-related artists, music-related businesses and appreciators of Minnesota music.
