When your ears ring after a show or rehearsal, that is the auditory systems way of telling you that damage is being done to your hearing. Music Induced Hearing Loss (MIHL) happens so slowly over time that you probably won’t really notice a problem until you really have a problem.
MIHL not only effects your ability to hear soft sounds, but can also result a constant ringing in the ears known as tinnitus, effect your ability to perceive subtle changes in pitch, and decrease your tolerance for loud sounds.
MIHL results in permanent hearing loss at the level of the auditory nerve. The good news is you can protect your hearing, without sacrificing any fidelity.
ER-9,15 and 25 filtered molds are designed to reduce sounds across a flat frequency range. Low’s and high’s are cut evenly to allow for a clear and natural quality to music.
Foam plugs and one size fits all plugs in general will have too much reduction in the high frequencies, making the music sound dull or muffled. In addition, those plugs can become uncomfortable and need constant adjustment. Our custom products are made with a soft silicone that delivers a comfortable fit while maintaining a tight acoustic seal.
In addition to making custom molds for musicians, we also specialize in custom high fidelity sound isolation earphones (reference quality sound that works excellent for recording and mixing), custom earpieces for Bluetooth headsets, swim plugs, and other recreational noise hearing protection.
