10w-40 - Reviews
'10W-40 are a flush of excitement and bewilderment. A little guitar, bass, drums, harp, turntables, and trombone lubricate the trail for words of wisdom in anthems of drinking, the Old Testament, big-breasted women, and kerosene. It is reported that as the band prospers, they will invest their money accumulating semi-trucks and Ranger bass boats for their infamous 10w-40 fishing team. Their sound is a lure and it is rumored Babe Winkelman is envious of their skills with the rod and reel. Neil had nothing but good things to say when I explained their position in the corral.'

'Finally, after a year-and-a-half hiatus, boss axeman /Streamline Records founder James Edlund's killer local band, 10w-40, are back in the saddle. Local clubs have been seriously missing a link without these guys, and after seeing the revamped lineup a few days ago at The Turf, I'm here to tellya this is a show not to miss. Though he's run through the gamut of local bass players (Tom Lischmann, ex-Mags, Chad Johnson, Best Fight Story, and Joe Habiger, ex-Youngers), Edlund found that returning to his roots for that bumpin' rhythm was the smartest move. Now sporting Jim Michels (with whom James founded the band, he's been around forever, jammed with Bobby Stinson in the day) on thunderstick, 10w-40 has triumphantly returned to our eardrums with a frewsh vigor, a sack full o' new tunes and a groovy new sound that's still augmented by Edlund's nimble pickin'. Incorporating turntables, rock-a-rolla drummin' and snarling axe, these cats are sure to slay even the most jaded amoung you. Don't say I didn't warn you.'
