Seasoned slowly over years of live performance, Lonesome Dan Kase’s natural talent with the guitar and vocals has been developed to a fine edge. Few things are as sincerely American as the music he chooses, and few players demonstrate as much love of the Country Blues genre in their performances. Dan is a capable songwriter, (writing five new songs on the new Crush Collision Trio CD) but chooses to show deference to those he seeks to follow. He offers us only those few most complete original songs that might someday stand near the works of his heroes… like Charlie Patton, Leadbelly, Reverend Gary Davis, Willie McTell, Blind Lemon, Blind Boy Fuller, Sleepy John Estes and Blind Lemon Jefferson. While Dan is best known as an outstanding solo performer, he has expanded his work to include the unique sounds of the country blues mandolin and the metallic percussion of the classic washboard.
