Born & raised on the south side of Minneapolis, MN, Joshua has always had art & music in his blood. From his family growing up next door to Prince, to having several family members around that always had a brush or instrument in hand, this is how a style is born.

Composing, then performing music on several instruments, at every local venue possible, since the age of 10, with numerous musical projects, Joshua had gained quite a perspective on the music business.scene. On the art end of the spectrum, some of his work has been on display at the following galleries:

Never the type to let anyone hold him back, Joshua broke free from his prior musical endeavors on Jan. 1st, 2000, & went on to pursue a solo career under the alias of JSL, with a fresh start. Inspired by a lack of drive from his musical peers, JSL is determined to make a future for his family with these unmistakable talents. As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, to this day, JSL continues to push the limits of creativity, all the while remaining incredibly diverse, & innovative.
