Sacred Ground is made up of refugees from the bands Grassy Knoll and Vulvox. The current lineup came together in August 2002. The band's wide range of influences includes:Rush, Dream Theater, Fates Warning, King Crimson, Yes, Living Colour, Mr. Bungle, Faith No More, Clutch, Tori Amos, Queensryche, John Coltrane, Eric Dolphy, and Mahavishnu Orchestra(to name a few).Sacred Ground plays heavy-ish rock with odd time signatures, complex harmonies, effects drenched bass, and long instrumental segments. Thought provoking lyrics and emotional, melodic vocals make for a unique listening experience.
