A teacher, composer and player of several instruments, Jeff Brueske currently concentrates on the bass. He studied under jazz virtuoso Anthony Cox and briefly under Rodney Whitaker as well as classical bassists Robert Anderson of the Minnesota Orchestra and Mark Kausch of the Lyra Baroque Orchestra.
He has appeared with many local jazz luminaries including Dennis Spears, Tanner Taylor, Pete Whitman, Kevin Washington, and the late Bobby Peterson. He is bassist for the Jazz is Now Quartet and the Parisota Hot Club, and co-founded the Gypsy jazz ensemble Sidewalk Café and the modern jazz trio Exquisite Corps, both of whom have recently recorded CD’s.
Jeff is instructor of jazz bass at Bethel University and teaches a large roster of private guitar and bass students.
