Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies

Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies (GTCYS) is recognized as one of the nation's largest youth orchestra organizations with eight orchestras and serving over 600 young musicians. We are in the forefront of the local arts community with a busy concert schedule that includes fall, winter, and spring concerts for all of our orchestras.
GTCYS is committed to training young musicians, nurturing future performers, and developing new audiences. We encourage and welcome everyone-whether a first-time listener or a seasoned concertgoer-to experience the magic of our next generation.

We also serve as a vehicle that promotes interaction between our members and renowned artists such as Eiji Oue, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, and Leonard Slatkin as well as with prestigious local arts organizations such as The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, Dale Warland Singers, and the Minnesota Opera.
GTCYS alumni can be found in many of the major orchestras around the world, including The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Baltimore, Boston and Chicago Symphonies, and the New York Philharmonic. While many of our alumni become professional musicians, still more pursue careers unrelated to the arts and aspire to major leadership roles in their communities.
