Tamara Moonkey began playing piano at the age of 7. She grew up on Madonna and Beethoven. After graduating from a small town with the population of about 800 people, she had to get far away, to Berklee College of Music she went. During this period lots of things occured and melted into memory. She graduated from Music Tech, now McNally Smith. She is a Barista, Music teacher of voice, piano, and guitar, and a nursing assistant. Currently, living paycheck to paycheck. Megan Popowski began cello at the age of 7. She studied classically with such teachers as Robert Jaimeson, Uri Vardi, Carol Kautzmann, and Nathan Davis. Her first paying gig was with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony. Megan met Tamara Moonkey by an ad in the citypages. We have been on and off ever since. Currently she is a free lance cellist and cello teacher. The band started in 2000 under the name Vespertine. We played with the drummer and guitarist from Maps of Norway. When the band broke up, Megan and Tamara decided to play with a bass player. After a few recording sessions they broke up and became Galvanic Alien. No other people, just the duo. They played at many venues including Fine Line and Kitty Cat Klub. There was a year hiatus and we are back again with a new name and a new mission. |
