Rolling up and down the musical highways between rock, pop, and soul, entertaining the tiniest coffee houses to arenas filled with thousands, singing before the secular and the sacred, *Dove Award Nominee Billy Buchanan’s career can best be described as WITHOUT BOUNDS OR LIMITATIONS. Over the years, this multi-instrumentalist has walked the line between musical genres and styles without blinking an eye. As a founding member of the bands Fusebox (Once Again, Every Move I Make), Beehive, and Skindeep, and as a former member of Grammy Award Winner Rebecca St. James’ band, Billy has shared the stage with an impressive list of artists including, Switchfoot, Alice in Chains, The Newsboys, The Four Tops, Marvelous 3, Relient K, Chaka Khan, and Shawn Mullins, to name a few.

Having endured an abusive father, poverty, and eventually his parent's divorce, Billy challenges listeners and audiences with songs that describe the joys and pains of life. This Cleveland, OH native has sold thousands of albums and performed in over 25 countries. He writes from personal experience, while at the same time, leaving room for the listener to put their self in the song. Billy describes his music as a blend of concrete and dirt. He explains, ..I was raised in Cleveland, OH, but my family was originally from Georgia, and brought a lot of that culture with them. I would hear pop, hip-hop, and dance music on the street, but at home, and at my grandparent’s houses, I would hear soul, country, and gospel. It all rubbed off on me...

Billy, now a Nashville, TN resident, has worked with a who’s who of producers including Brendan O’Brien (Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen), John Carter Cash (Johnny Cash, The Carter Family), Rodney Mills (38 Special, Lynyrd Skynyrd), Dallas Austin (Madonna, Gwen Stefani), Otto Price (Barlow Girl, Out of Eden), and Mac Powell (Third Day). Through his own production company Vision 1st Music, he has written for and produced some of the best up and coming talent in the music industry today, including Redflecks, Altarmotive, Megan and Mandy, and Tra Jones, to name a few.

As you listen to Billy’s music over the years, you can hear his growth musically, lyrically, and spiritually. Having endured band member changes, record label letdowns, and music industry fads, Billy is the epitome of perseverance and consistency in a business that’s always evolving.
