Jerry Spanhanks, Shirley Mauch Spanhanks, Nick Larson and Russ Rayfield are the bluegrass band Blue Wolf, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The love of bluegrass music brings this pack of musicians together. Jerry Spanhanks on the guitar and dobro dazzles the audience with his smooth and innovative picking. Shirley Mauch Spanhanks, previously a member of the Outskirts, flatpicks the guitar and sings lead and harmony. Nick Larson, bass player and vocalist, is the backbone and drive behind Blue Wolf. Russ Rayfield on banjo is the newest addition to the group. Russ comes from a long line of musicians, and has been playing bluegrass and related music in the Twin Cities since the 1970s.
