Singer/Songwriter/performer Elliott Christopher was born in 1970 adopted four weeks latter. After his parents divorce in 1973 he moved to a small town in northern Minnesota . Moving every four years putting his roots down no where. Learning piano at five trumpet at eight and guitar at 13 he wrote his first song at 14 it's been a passion ever since. In high school Christopher spent his time in garages playing in bands and skate boarding graduating in 1988.
The 90's and his twenties brought a hitch in the army's 82nd airborne, a tour in the gulf war; drugs and alcohol, failed bands, failed relationships, job to job, depression and descent. In 1998 Elliott Christopher checked in to a treatment center and changed his life. Finding himself and planting new roots in Minneapolis Mn. With a new start, a new wife, a new child and new life.
Elliott Christopher's strong melodies and raw lyrics draw from a variety of styles and life experiences to create engaging and organic folk/pop songs. Elliott has been compared to the voice of Neil Diamond, the intensity of Stephen Stills, with the pop sensibility of The Cure. Elliott sites such influences as Peter, Paul & Mary, The Clash, The Afghan Whigs and David Wilcox. Whether solo or with his band Elliott gives his heart to his live shows with a quirky sense of humor and slice of life story telling. From recordings to coffee houses and clubs Elliott Christopher aims to entertain and it shows. |
