The Cleveland Street Collective is a group of musician/friends (most of the time) whose various musical relationships date back to 1993, or back to the beginning of integrated molecular matter, if you think about it. The name of the collective comes from the original moniker of the group Tanya and the Holsum Family Fiscal Planner- a 12 piece improv orchestra including conductor, that performed at Acadia Theatre every Monday night from April to September 2003. The Tanyas, and friends of the Tanyas make up the pool that is the every-Monday-event, THE CLEVELAND STREET COLLECTIVE PRESENTS: .... And each week, from within the collective, a subcection will emerge (a different group will perform) from the depths of urbania and rock you- well. This began as a weekly reconfiguration of free improv settings. The CSC however, seeks to be more integrative, including Bluegrass/Folk, improv music, Classical, Art Song and Opera, Rock, Straight Ahead, Contemporary and Free Jazz, and New music ensembles featuring young composers. We hope to see you there. |
