Erin Muir

INTERNATIONAL GIRL, ERIN MUIR
Erin Muir became known as International Girl due to her Burlesque/Cabaret persona which stretched over into her rock and roll life: Sometimes a religious revivalist (which religion is sort of the question), sometimes a darkly doe-eyed sex kitten dramatist… International Girl sings in multiple countries, multiple languages, and multiple accents, all within a world-influenced, singer-songwriter pop-rock frame. Muir, who whetted her performance whistle with infamous burlesque cabaret Le Cirque Rouge, later formed her own original project in Minneapolis, which became a springboard for her eclectic world-pop touring life. Muir moved in 2005 to Los Angeles, after touring Europe, the Eastern US, and the Midwest. She has since been a fixture on the pop scene, performing at LA venues including the Temple Bar, the Rainbow, and the iconic Pig N Whistle. Recording with producers Reid deFever (the Octopus) and Bernie Larsen (Spinout Records), her next album is due Spring 2007.
Philosophy: Erin is on the Heroine Journey, and as a young rock amazon, truly believes that spirituality, sex, love, and rock and roll all go together… in a technologically evolving and ever-changing music scene… and also in a sexy pop-rock format with lots of hooks.

Kind of like Heart meets Bonnie Rait meets Billy Idol... an awesome vocalist and womanrock persona in her own right. -David DeYoung, howwastheshow.com

Strange Facts:
1. Erin Muir can currently be ordered on pay per view, in the Troma Alien Stoner Flick Space Daze, now available on Comcast. She plays Christy Carmichael, a bubbly young investigative reporter in search of intelligent life… on this planet or any other.
2. She really can sing in multiple languages, because she studied opera. She can sing in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Pig Latin, Czech, German, and once learned a Leonard Cohen song in Icelandic.
3. Erin has produced and directed two short films: The Minnesota Strip Tease, features burlesque star Ophelia Flame doing her thing- with tater tot hotdish. (It’s a Midwestern thing.) The other, LeStrangle and Dance, is a spoof of action adventure television from the 70s. In L & S, she also stars as Sandi and cowrote and performed the theme song.
4. Erin loves pickles and can eat a jar at a time.
5. She’s been studying kickboxing with Lalee Hugyetz, five time International Kickboxing Champion. Of course, it’s Hollywood. So mostly she’s been lustfully watching him do his roundhouses.
